Becky began her college admissions career right in her own backyard. Back in Grand Rapids, MI (yes, she will gladly point it out on a map for you), with her degree in social work from Calvin College in tow, she began her self-made journey of becoming a dedicated college counselor working for her alma mater’s admissions department—all with a little can-do attitude and elbow grease.

As Calvin College’s first Senior Regional Admissions Counselor for Enrollment for six years and a member of the Regional Admissions Counselors of California, Becky logged countless miles to meet students and families face-to-face—always with a sincere desire to listen and be a true resource versus a walking brochure of college fast-facts. While at Calvin, she executed 600+ small and large admissions speaking and recruiting events and reviewed 1,200+ applications, always keeping in mind each student’s different perspective and personality (it’s no accident that she’s genuinely fascinated with personality tests like the Myers Briggs and Enneagram).

When Becky is not helping students embrace who they are while encouraging meaningful growth, she is waiting for her callback from American Idol (2005) and singing “Don’t Stop Believin’” at karaoke to stay sharp.

What are people saying about Collegewise?

Collegewise made the application process way less confusing and painful. My counselor was super-supportive of my decisions and extremely insightful in helping me throughout the process!

Caroline Ong

UC Davis

Collegewise was absolutely wonderful to work with! They kept my daughter organized and focused throughout the entire process. They were very responsive to any questions or concerns and took the stress out of the entire process. My daughter is the first child I'm sending to college, and I felt that we were given great advice about how to handle all the different parts of the application process. I will be using Collegewise again!

Stephanie Rogers, Parent of Caitlin Rogers

Fordham University

I came to Collegewise knowing nothing about the application process. My counselor clearly walked me through everything, and, although I applied to 20 different colleges, she helped me finish all of my applications way ahead of most people's schedules. This gave me time to make all of the Early Action deadlines, and I had more free time than most seniors…

Diane Nhieu

University of Wisconsin-Madison

My daughter had a great experience working with Collegewise—her counselor understood the ins-and-outs of the application process. It put my mind at ease to know that someone was giving my daughter good advice and proofreading her work…her counselor helped position her as a candidate and even helped build a college list. I highly recommend Collegewise!

Sarah Greifenberger, Parent of Courtney Greifenberger

University of Michigan

Collegewise helped me get into the college of my choice. It was a pleasure working with my counselor—not only did I get help with essays, but I received guidance at every point of my application process!

Luigi Bassani Antivari

Georgetown University

I don't know where I would be without Collegewise! Being the oldest child in my family, I had no idea where to start when applying to colleges, but Collegewise was a huge help in the stressful process. My counselor helped me so much with my applications and essays.
