Kellie’s attention to detail and penchant for fun make her a natural fit for Collegewise. More importantly, she is supportive and truly understands what kids are going through. When Kellie served as Assistant Director of Admission at USC, she read every single application in the most thoughtful and respectful way possible—despite the volume—and still had time to be a go-to resource on all-things-admissions for her colleagues and students. Kellie’s strong background in public relations underscored that personal relations mean a lot, and families will find that she strives to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the college admissions process and confident in the choices they’re making.

While with The Walt Disney Company, she learned that stories matter, and she took that lesson to her position at USC, where she advocated for diverse stories and voices to be heard. And if you love music, Kellie can show you a thing or two. She has 15 years of experience playing trumpet, and earned extra money in college playing on the TV series Glee and for The Croods soundtrack. If that weren’t enough, she’s performed alongside major artists such as Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, Ludacris, P. Diddy, Rick Ross, Tommy Lee, Busta Rhymes, WAR, and Ozomatli.

What are people saying about Collegewise?

“Worth every penny! Collegewise made the whole college application process painlessly achievable, and unbelievably, my kids had fun. I never had to monitor their application status—their counselor was on top of it. They introduced colleges that were not on our radar and allowed me to step away, letting my kids go through the process independently with counselor guidance. Collegewise helped to keep the stress level at home low, and I really love their philosophy that there is a great college for every kid.”

Kathleen Jennett, Parent of Riley Johnson

“Collegewise was very helpful with setting deadlines and guiding me through the college process. I would not have finished my college apps as early and with as much ease without them! While everyone was stressing and freaking out about college, I was on top of things. It was also nice to have someone to ask questions and just talk to about college (other than my parents). My counselor guided me to apply to the right colleges and supported me every step of the way.”

Hope Hyland

“Collegewise was by my side throughout the entire college application process. I could not imagine going through it without my counselor, who answered all of my questions and talked me through the steps of how to write the perfect essay.”

Annika Kuruvilla

University of Richmond

“Collegewise helped me with my UC application essays, and I think it made a huge impact on which UCs I got into—including UC Berkeley. They gave me really useful insights on what an admissions officer might think of my essays.”

Maya Luong

UC Berkeley

“Collegewise helped me through my senior year—specifically with my applications and essays. I don’t think I would be going to UCSD if it weren’t for them. Without Collegewise, I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do, and would’ve missed a lot of requirements and opportunities.”

Claire Shaha

UC San Diego

I loved working with Collegewise! They helped me strengthen my college list as well as my applications and essays. My counselor always provided support and made the process enjoyable…she gave me guidance and encouraged me. I would recommend Collegewise as a whole to anyone I know.”
