It would be difficult to identify a component of the college application and completion process that Kelsey doesn’t have firsthand experience with. She first caught the admissions bug in the admissions office of her alma mater, Western Michigan University, where she served as a peer academic advisor and student ambassador. Somewhere between the backwards walking tours and the phone calls with prospective students, she found her calling in helping high school students find the right place to call home for their undergraduate education. It’s not surprising, then that she joined AmeriCorps, a domestic version of the Peace Corps, upon graduation. She spent her term in AmeriCorps as a college completion coach at College Forward, helping 121 college students (yes, you read that right!) create action plans that would allow them to walk across the stage at their college graduations. She’s spent the past two years at UT Austin, where she’s taught mentorship classes to upperclassmen throughout the UT campus and familiarized herself with the UT registration process and curriculum.
Kelsey uses her years of experience with college administration to help her students navigate the admissions process with ease (and even with a little bit of humor!). When she’s not busy reading her students’ college essays, you can find Kelsey binge-watching her latest favorite TV show or playing with her dog, Colbie.

What are people saying about Collegewise?
We were impressed with the outcome: Our son not only got accepted to his “reach” school, but the financial offers were unbelievable! He got multiple merit-based scholarships and fully paid tuition at many great colleges. We believe Collegewise made a big difference.

Collegewise made a difficult, confusing, and stressful process into something I could handle and provided the counseling I needed to attain the goals I set for myself.
Collegewise not only helped me find a number of great potential schools, but also helped open my eyes to some of the great components of the college experience to come.

Collegewise was easily one of the best things that happened to me last fall! I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Collegewise. I recommend it to any student that needs help with the process and doesn’t want to be stressed out when January comes around.

While working with Collegewise, the stress of college applications just melted away! Although the writing and research took some time, it was absolutely worth it because, in the end, I knew I had sent in the best application I could and the college I picked would be the perfect fit for me!
There is no way I would have been able to get through the college application process without Collegewise. Collegewise helped me find my first choice school (that I didn’t really know much about at first), write an amazing essay that was reflective of me, and kept me on top of all my to-do lists.
