Sandi began her stint in higher education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Cal State Long Beach followed by a master’s degree in education from USC. She recently crossed over to the Trojans’ biggest rival when she returned to school to earn her certification in college admissions counseling from UCLA. She roots for each school equally.

After a successful career in publishing, which included launching a magazine and working as the managing editor for 10 years, Sandi returned to her roots in education. Prior to joining Collegewise in July of 2015, she worked in the counseling office at Orange County School of the Arts. It was then that Sandi realized she wanted to help high school students of all GPAs and test scores find and get accepted to the colleges of their dreams. While Sandi works with all students, she has extensive experience helping students research, apply to, and audition for schools within the performing arts. She was an active volunteer with the Orange Unified School District for 15 years while raising two boys and seeing them off to college. When she’s not counseling students or attending Broadway musicals, you can find Sandi watching any and every reality show related to dance.

What are people saying about Collegewise?

Sandi was amazing with our daughter Maddy. Very thorough and organized. Maddy loved working with her and we loved the stress-free process for the parents. Maddy applied to 9 colleges and got accepted to 8. Sandi was definitely a huge help getting our daughter into her reach school, University of Oregon. Thank you, Sandi!

We searched for professional help and very luckily found Sandi. She spent many hours helping our daughter to understand herself and refine the college list. My daughter was accepted to a top choice college with Sandi’s counseling. I highly recommend Sandi. She is gifted in her field.

Working with my counselor has been a wonderful experience. The most helpful part of this experience was our essay brainstorming session, during which Sandi opened my mind to all the exciting things I could write about. I also appreciated the mock interview session. It prepared me for the questions my interviewer asked.

Sandi’s enthusiasm for my college application process was palpable. I am so grateful to Sandi for being a neutral voice in what can often be an anxious, confusing process. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Sandi, someone who will remain passionate about your college application journey from start to finish!

Sandi spent countless hours listening to me and really understanding who I was, and what I wanted before we even began the application process. Through this, she suggested schools appealing to these wants. If it wasn’t for her I truly believe I wouldn’t have gotten into my dream schools.

Sandi was amazing, always on time, a great personality, very encouraging and knowledgeable. But most of all she helped my daughter understand who she was and where she wanted to study by suggesting schools that were not even on her radar. I never had to worry about deadlines, as Sandi was always on top of everything.
