I am so glad I found Collegewise to help me with my application process. I started senior year completely lost on where to start and where to apply, but once I started meeting with Annie she explained everything calmly. She helped me sort through possible topics and essays and made sure my ideas were properly expressed. She was with me every step of the way and made the college application process a lot less overwhelming.

Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

Going to my meetings at Collegewise never felt like a chore, but more as something to look forward to! Everyone in the office is so friendly, willing to help, and made for such great motivators and supporters when it came time to fill in apps and write essays. 10/10!

Annie Bae, College Counselor
A first-generation college student who understands firsthand the challenges students and families face when navigating the admissions process, Annie brings a unique perspective to college counseling. Her students have been accepted to nearly 50 selective colleges and universities, including Stanford; Columbia; MIT; Caltech; UPenn; Cornell; Dartmouth; Northwestern; Rice; Washington University in St. Louis; all the UC (University of California) schools; USC; Northeastern; NYU; Tufts; and Boston University. Annie’s students have also been admitted to universities in Canada, including the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia.
Annie's counseling style is built around structure, clear communication, and empowering students to take ownership of their college planning journey. She provides her students with organized agendas, manageable deadlines, and regular check-ins to keep them on track. While she offers guidance and support throughout the process, Annie believes students should have agency in making decisions about their future and uses the college planning process as an opportunity for self-discovery.
Through her personal lived experiences, Annie is able to empathize and understand students and families in ways that make them feel truly seen and supported. She particularly excels at working with students who appreciate structure and organization, those interested in humanities fields (especially English and History), and soft-spoken or shy students who benefit from her gentle approach to constructive feedback.
Families consistently praise Annie for her exceptional communication skills and quick responsiveness to questions. Her ability to break down the often overwhelming college admissions process into manageable steps, combined with her genuine care for each student's success, has made her an invaluable resource for the families she serves.
Annie became a college counselor so she could provide the support and expertise she wished she had during her own high school years; her father didn't speak English well, leaving her to figure out much of the process on her own. Today, Annie finds it deeply rewarding to share both her professional knowledge and personal experiences with students who may be feeling the same uncertainty she once felt.
