I am so glad I found Collegewise to help me with my application process. I started senior year completely lost on where to start and where to apply, but once I started meeting with Annie she explained everything calmly. She helped me sort through possible topics and essays and made sure my ideas were properly expressed. She was with me every step of the way and made the college application process a lot less overwhelming.

Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

Going to my meetings at Collegewise never felt like a chore, but more as something to look forward to! Everyone in the office is so friendly, willing to help, and made for such great motivators and supporters when it came time to fill in apps and write essays. 10/10!

Annie Bae, College Counselor
Annie's journey started as an ESL student who immigrated from South Korea to the US in elementary school. Understanding the challenges of learning English in a foreign country, she decided to major in English at UCLA and returned to the motherland to teach English to elementary and middle school students. Having fallen in love with Medieval Literature in undergrad, Annie then moved to England where she received her master's in Medieval Literature.
Once she returned to Los Angeles, she discovered college counseling and decided to return to school to expand her knowledge of best practices and research surrounding cross-cultural counseling and the admissions landscape, leading her to the Harvard Graduate School of Education. There, she found her calling in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) work as she interned at the Office of Diversity and Minority Affairs in the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. With her team of like-minded advocates, she assists in the recruitment, outreach, and retention of graduate Underrepresented Minority (URM) students at Harvard.
As a college counselor, Annie is passionate about advocating for under-resourced students and guiding students to discover their own unique interests and passions in the context of their strengths. In her free time, Annie can be found playing Call of Duty, reading British literature, or watching Korean dramas.
