Charlie Duffy pattern

Charlie Duffy, College Counselor

Nervous about making the right decisions during the college application process? Look no further than Charlie Duffy. Charlie has developed a wealth of counseling expertise working in higher education over the past decade. He began his journey working as an admission officer at several universities (including UCSD) before moving to the “other side of the desk” as the Associate Director of College Counseling at highly regarded private schools in Florida and California.

Charlie manages to infuse data-based insights and a deep level of empathy into every aspect of his counseling, helping families understand the importance of each step of the process. Charlie is an expert at myth-busting: he can parse fact from fiction in the blink of an eye. He always embodies calm and steadiness as he guides families to make smart decisions that fit the student’s goals and interests. When asked what part of the college counseling Charlie loves most, he can’t pick just one — he enjoys every component (from activity selection to list building to essay writing) in which he can help a student reflect on who they are and how to take steps towards who they want to become. Charlie has helped students find their “home” at universities such as Princeton, University of Michigan, USC, Northeastern, and Georgia Tech.

The secret to Charlie’s calm, reassuring demeanor? A deep love for the outdoors. When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Charlie out for a run, hiking in the mountains, or spending time at the beach with family and friends.
