Meet Jennifer!

We are beyond thrilled with not only the choice Jordan made for college but all of the schools where he was accepted. None of this would have been possible without the tremendous help of Collegewise, and Jennifer Turano in particular. Starting from day 1, Jennifer worked diligently with Jordan on a routine schedule, gave him the tools that allowed him to make critical choices/decisions, and laid the framework to achieve these goals in a structured and easy to follow manner. Jennifer's professionalism goes without saying. She is organized, detailed, and motivates the students to think on their own and without the help of their parents, something I appreciated!

Jennifer dove right into her work with our daughter and really helped to focus her personal statement and school specific essays. Jennifer teased out the experiences and interests that make our daughter unique and was able to guide her to craft them into strong essays for each school. When our daughter seemed at times to be stuck, Jennifer was able to break the logjams and get our daughter back on course. Jennifer was a positive voice of support and brought a fresh perspective that I, as a parent, would not have been able to bear on the process. I highly recommend using Jennifer for your child regardless of what level of school you are targeting. She will get the most out of your child's background to best sell themselves to the schools to which they are applying.

At first, I was very pessimistic about having a college counselor. I was convinced that I could do it myself. Oh, how I was wrong. Throughout the process and each time when meeting with Jennifer, I realized how much she really has helped me. There is so much that I wouldn't have known without her, and the ideas she gave me pushed me to write the best personal statement and supplements I could, along with the editors that also helped. I had such an unbelievable experience with Collegewise and Jennifer that was so unique and helpful. I wouldn't have gotten into all of my colleges and had this amount of support without her.

I loved working with Jennifer! She made sure that I made a well-balanced college list full of schools that I wasn't initially interested in, but after encouraging me to explore them, I fell in love with them all. She always checked in and set deadlines that were helpful for me to ensure I got all my applications done on time (even early)! All of her advice was so helpful and allowed me to remain optimistic while also being realistic. All in all, I loved working with Jennifer and quite honestly wish that I could again. She made the process so much more fun and less stressful.

Jennifer made my dream school a reality! With her help, I was able to write essays that eloquently and effectively reflected my true self and my enthusiasm for Barnard. Jennifer was one of the most helpful counselors I've ever had. She was so kind and compassionate, despite us having to meet virtually for all our sessions. I struggle with insecurities and never feel proud of myself, but she made me feel that I was incredibly successful and should be proud of what I have accomplished. I was emotionally raw with her, felt comfortable opening up to her, and even enjoyed conversations about other topics aside from the stresses the college application process brings. She was so attentive to my work, provided insightful critiques, was honest in her opinions and criticisms, and overall helped me produce phenomenal products. I cannot ask for a kinder, more intelligent counselor.
