Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

The college application process is confusing and tedious, and Collegewise really helped with that process. It was reassuring to go over my application with my counselor so that we could make sure that I had a better chance of getting in!

Jessica Strange, College Counselor
Jessica has spent her career working with students and families with diverse backgrounds and aspirations. Since joining Collegewise, her students have been accepted to more than 60 colleges and universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Northwestern, Rice, Georgia Tech, Purdue, NYU, Colby College, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Washington, many of the University of California campuses, and the University of British Columbia.
Testimonials from Jessica’s Collegewise families frequently cite the detailed session notes she provides, which help parents feel informed and connected to the process—even when they’re not sitting in on meetings. Parents appreciate knowing that Jessica is genuinely invested in getting to know their student well and that she brings both warmth and meticulous attention to detail to the work they do together. She takes pride in watching all her students thrive at their colleges and loves hearing from them about how happy they are on their respective campuses.
In 2025, Jessica was selected to join a small group of Collegewise counselors who also advise students through our partnership with the Center for Talented Youth (CTY). She also brings significant STEM experience from her years as the first counselor hired at Tesla STEM High School in Redmond, Washington (ranked among the top public schools in the nation), where she built the counseling program from the ground up.
Like all great college counselors, Jessica is called to this work by something deeper than professional interest. She genuinely loves this age and stage of life—the process of growing up and making one of the first big decisions beyond high school.
As Jessica describes it:
I love encouraging my students, cheering them on in this process, and seeing them become young adults. Their energy, humor, ideas—I just love it all. I hope these teenagers will never get tired of working with me, because I really cannot imagine not working with them.
Originally from Canada and now residing in Tennessee, Jessica has also lived in Hawaii, California, and Washington. When she’s not meeting with students or keeping up with admission trends, Jessica homeschools her four children, teaches at a local co-op academy, and enjoys convincing her family to join her on her regular waterfall hikes.
