Meet Kaireth!

Kaireth Kim, College Counselor

Kaireth’s educational journey began with a scholarship to Middlebury College and continues with more than 15 years as both a college advisor and an SAT preparation expert. As a college counselor, Kaireth has steered more than 200 students to some of the most selective colleges, including Caltech, Yale, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, and UC Berkeley. 

During our recruiting and hiring process at Collegewise, we look for compelling examples of applicants who’ve made an impact and left a legacy at their former places of employment. In Kaireth, we saw a college counselor who’d made significant contributions to the training and development efforts in each of his former posts, from delivering company-wide professional development webinars on key admissions topics, to revamping employee onboarding programs, to crafting compelling presentations on a variety of admissions topics, all of which now live on in his absence. Experience has taught us that colleagues like Kaireth, those who make an impact not only on the students in their charge but also on their team and their company, embody the kind of focus, commitment, and sense of responsibility found in the best college counselors. 

Kaireth understands that no two students are the same, and each requires their own personalized approach to planning effectively for college. In Kaireth’s words:  

Beyond crafting compelling college applications, I excel in mentoring students to create meaningful capstone projects, engage in impactful extracurriculars, and develop skills that will serve them long after admission decisions are made. I’ve helped students found NGOs, launch entrepreneurial ventures, and achieve significant milestones in both STEM and the arts. Whether a student is aiming for a competitive STEM program, a business school, or a liberal arts college, I have the expertise to tailor a strategy to their unique strengths and aspirations.

While Kaireth is comfortable working with students of all levels of achievement and academic interests, he’s particularly well versed in business and STEM advising for high-achieving applicants. 

A bilingual native Korean speaker who spent two years doing alternative military service at Bukhansan National Park, Kaireth is also an aficionado of both Pokemon Go and fine ice cream.
