Meet Kirsten!

We have had such a great experience with Kirsten and Collegewise. They have worked so hard to keep Colin focused on his essays, applications, and provided incredible feedback on his drafts. They let his individuality shine in his writing, and we think that had so much to do with his getting accepted to Brown. Kirsten showed great warmth, compassion and insight during the whole process and made Colin feel like he had a second family. Thank you, Kirsten and Collegewise! You have played such a big part in getting Colin into the college of his choice and starting him down the road to future success.

This whole process just felt so easy and manageable. Kirsten was always there to help me out whenever I needed it, and I never felt overwhelmed or like I was alone against the world. She really cared about me and we were able to build up such a great connection that I hope I can stay in touch with her for many years to come. I would’ve been much more stressed with just my school counselor who can’t give the same individual attention. I would recommend her to anybody.

Kirsten was a Godsend. From our first contact to my son getting into his first-choice college, Kirsten was kind, upfront, realistic, and incredibly supportive. My son, D.J., absolutely loved working with her. It’s somewhat difficult for a parent to essentially hand over your kid to a stranger to help with everything related to getting into a good college. I am so thankful we made the decision to have D.J. work with Kirsten. She certainly did not do the work for him, but her guidance, expertise, and encouragement allowed for my son to grow, have realistic expectations, and be fully prepared for whatever the schools tossed his way. The entire process was so different that when I was an 18-year old. I’m truly thankful my son had Kirsten to guide him through this entire process. I highly recommend Collegewise.

Kirsten has been a tremendous help through this entire college process. When I was a tenth grader she encouraged me to work hard and keep pushing so that I could have a great future. Thanks to Kirsten, I applied to the perfect amount of likely, target, and reach schools, all of which I also loved. I never once felt afraid that I would not like where I ended up. Also, when it came time to essay writing, Kirsten kept me on track and focused so that I had plenty of time to enjoy my senior year and not just spend my weekends working on college applications. Lastly, of course, she is one of the kindest and most supportive people that I have met, and I’m so glad I was able to go through this phase of my life with her.

Kirsten is the college counselor of your dreams! She's got it all. From the beginning of the process, she is enthusiastic and supportive. As my daughter moved into getting her applications done, Kirsten was there every step of the way. She held my daughter's hand and held her accountable—not an easy feat, but one Kirsten manages perfectly. The waiting was probably the hardest part, but Kirsten was constantly available and supportive. Kirsten's knowledge, enthusiasm, and hard work helped our daughter navigate through the difficult and sometimes frustrating process of college admissions. We cannot recommend her more highly and now consider her part of the family. Rarely do you find the combination of warmth, professionalism, and drive that Kirsten offers. I would say we are going to miss her, but our son is meeting with her next month.

Kirsten was phenomenal. My son really enjoyed working with her, and she was wonderful in terms of letting him drive and own the process while keeping my husband and me in the loop. She has a wonderful warm, positive way of being realistic and encouraging. She guided him thoughtfully while listening to him and understanding his perspective and opinions.

We were really happy with our Collegewise counselor and the entire process of applying to college. Kirsten worked with our twin sons to come up with a list of schools, helped them to organize their application materials and then kept at them so they hit deadlines. She also developed a nice relationship with both boys. We appreciated the added bonus of a few suggestions she made for interesting, relevant summer programs.
