Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

Going to my meetings at Collegewise never felt like a chore, but more as something to look forward to! Everyone in the office is so friendly, willing to help, and made for such great motivators and supporters when it came time to fill in apps and write essays. 10/10!

The college application process is confusing and tedious, and Collegewise really helped with that process. It was reassuring to go over my application with my counselor so that we could make sure that I had a better chance of getting in!

Brianne MacEachran, College Counselor
Brianne is the rare college counselor with experience not only in undergraduate admissions, but also within specific programs designed for students who intend to pursue careers business or medicine. She got her start as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. She then served as Assistant Director of Admissions at University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine where she devised criteria for their BS/MD dual admission candidates (high school seniors pursuing admission to both the Undergraduate College and College of Medicine), and later became an academic advisor for Miami University’s undergraduate business program and Honors College. This broad range of expertise means Brianne can speak knowledgeably around elements of the entire student journey, from high school to graduate school and beyond.
What makes a high school senior a compelling college applicant? How do students admitted to competitive business and medical programs stand out? What enables them to achieve those outcomes? Brianne understands the answer to these questions beyond the mechanics of an admissions decision; the varied traits and paths these students have taken truly inform her work as a college counselor. Brianne helps each student understand that this process is not just about getting into college—it’s also about claiming agency and responsibility for their time in college, before and after they arrive on campus.
In addition to her experience advising students interested in pre-medical and business programs, Brianne is comfortable working with students who have different interests, or who are uncertain about their intended major or career. In fact, these undecided students may find a particularly empathetic ear in Brianne. As she puts it:
I love connecting with undecided students who are struggling with a sense of overwhelm and choice-paralysis. I lived that experience, and I think my authenticity comes through in a meaningful way during those conversations with students and their families.
When she’s not counseling students or evaluating applications, you’ll likely find Brianne competing on the tennis courts, exploring new bookstores, or practicing her (early-stage) French.
