Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

Going to my meetings at Collegewise never felt like a chore, but more as something to look forward to! Everyone in the office is so friendly, willing to help, and made for such great motivators and supporters when it came time to fill in apps and write essays. 10/10!

The college application process is confusing and tedious, and Collegewise really helped with that process. It was reassuring to go over my application with my counselor so that we could make sure that I had a better chance of getting in!

Courtney Jusko, College Counselor
Courtney has spent more than a decade in higher education and has deep experience with all aspects of the high school-to-college pathway, having worked stints in financial aid, admissions, student services, and school counseling. Her students have successfully been admitted to a variety of colleges, many highly selective, including Boston College, Boston University, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Northeastern, Pepperdine, Syracuse, Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, University of Michigan, and University of Virginia. She’s equally comfortable working with the highest achievers who already have their sights set on particularly selective schools, as well as those students who may not sit at the top of the class and need help finding the right colleges for them.
The best college counselors encourage a student-centered approach, as they—not the student’s parents or counselor—are the ones who will ultimately attend their college of choice. It’s those who actively engage in the planning of their own futures who enjoy the most successful college admissions outcomes. That’s why Courtney endeavors to create a partnership between the student, parent, and counselor, each with a vital role to play. As she describes it:
A successful college admission process is a team effort. I help the student take the driver’s seat with me in the role of driving instructor, course correcting and applying the brakes as needed, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the ride as passengers with a vested interest in the journey.
As a former high school athlete, basketball coach, and swim team advisor, Courtney also enjoys working with student athletes and helping them present their commitments compellingly to admissions readers.
College admissions are not the only trade secrets in Courtney’s arsenal of expertise. She’s also a mother and an average but earnest baker. For those who’ve had the good fortune to dine at the iconic West Coast eatery, In-N-Out Burger, Courtney logged many shifts as a crew member in her former life and can give you all the insider info on their secret menu items.
