I loved working with Grant! He made the college process so much less daunting and he always gave helpful advice. It was super easy to contact and get feedback from him.

I do not think I would have been able to get through my college applications with out the help of Grant. I could not have asked for a better, more patient, helpful, and all around great person to help me with this process.

Grant was so helpful with helping me narrow down my choices and was considerate when I decided that some schools just weren't for me. His feedback was concise and guided me to be much more eloquent in my essays. Grant gave me the structure and guidance, so I could focus on the important parts of the applications. Thank you so much Grant!

I worked with Grant for my transfer application and his approach to planning out my essay was very strategic and comprehensive. He helped me create an effective format for my essay and was able to extract the best of my experiences and help me put it on my essay. I am very thankful for Grant's help as he played an integral role in my acceptance to the college of my choice!

Grant was very personable and easy to work with. He established a good rapport with my son and helped make him feel comfortable with the college application process. As a parent, he always kept me informed on the important milestones and decision points. It was a great relief knowing that Grant was managing the whole process and making sure that my son stayed on track with the work and the deadlines.

Grant was authentic and prepared us for the challenges of college admissions and then we had the pandemic to deal with! He could talk to the boys about pretty much any topic of interest; sports, politics, video games, social media, life! Grant was able to create a trusting environment so our boys would feel comfortable telling him anything - literally ANYTHING! When Grant didn't know an answer to a question , he was more than willing to find the answer!

Grant Cushman, College Counselor
With his ten years admissions and candidate management experience, Grant provides his students with holistic counseling. Grant earned his M.Ed. in Education from Chapman University and took on the role of Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, where he devised and implemented student engagement strategy. He then went on to manage all recruitment and counseling as Senior Assistant Director of Admission for University of Richmond’s Western-US Region.
As a recruiter and internship program manager for Riot Games, a video game developer, he was responsible for attracting some of tech’s best and brightest as well as creating a complete training curriculum. But he couldn’t stay away from admissions for long—he soon found himself at Pomona College, where he was once again guiding students through the admissions process. During his time at Collegewise, he has also evaluated applicants for admission to the University of California, San Diego.
With his strong admissions and tech knowledge, Grant offers a balanced approach to counseling: he is data-driven while also offering individualized support to students searching for their best-fit school. In his spare time, Grant enjoys rock-climbing, escape rooms, and reciting Hamilton in its entirety.
