Collegewise provided me with a better understanding of the college application and decision process than I thought possible. Collegewise’s guidance throughout the process allowed me to really figure out what I was looking for in a college, while also maximizing my options.

I would often be stressed about what I needed to get done or about how things were turning out, but every time I walked out of the office, I was so at ease. I think the most important part about being at Collegewise was how personalized the process was, and how much care and time and effort went into me specifically.

Going to my meetings at Collegewise never felt like a chore, but more as something to look forward to! Everyone in the office is so friendly, willing to help, and made for such great motivators and supporters when it came time to fill in apps and write essays. 10/10!

The college application process is confusing and tedious, and Collegewise really helped with that process. It was reassuring to go over my application with my counselor so that we could make sure that I had a better chance of getting in!

Gretchen Gleason, College Counselor
Gretchen Gleason is a proud graduate of Syracuse University where she studied Advertising, Spanish, and Italian. After graduating, she went to work for advertising giant McCann Erickson in NYC. Realizing that she would rather sell education than products, Gretchen took a job in the Admissions office at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. During her time there she developed relationships with students and counselors which revealed her passion for working with kids. This led her to two different independent schools, where she found her true calling.
Working with students every day reinforces her desire to do all that is possible to help them discover the school that best fits their interest and personality, and then advocate for them throughout the application process. The college search and application process can be overwhelming, and Gretchen enjoys serving as a resource and counselor for both students and their parents. Taking the stress out of the process and building their confidence in their applications brings her great joy. She has been told many times that her enthusiasm and high energy level are contagious, so she is a natural cheerleader for all young people as they navigate their path to college.
Gretchen is now living in North Carolina and when she is not dragging her family on campus tours, she is volunteering at her children’s school or working at a local high school. In her spare time, you can chase her on the Peloton leaderboard or ask her for updated photos of her adorable Corgi!
