Katie owns and runs our Bellevue, Washington office, where she has helped more than 500 students get accepted to the right colleges. She was also the well-deserved recipient of the 2014 Collegewise Counselor of the Year award, a distinction which she has subtly but successfully wedged into conversations with everyone from coworkers to the local Starbucks barista (“I’ve got a double-foam nonfat latte here for Collegewise Counselor of the Year!”).
Katie is a graduate of Colgate University and a former collegiate softball pitcher who can still hurl a ball fast enough to strike out most batters at the annual company softball game. She also has a certificate in college admissions counseling from UCLA and is one of our Collegewise Master Counselors who trains our new hires. A proud grammar snob and a diehard fan of her hometown Denver Broncos, Katie is a doting mom to her daughter, Everly.

What are people saying about Collegewise?
From the beginning, Katie made it all about our daughter and listened to who she was and what she wanted. She broke the application process down into small steps that made the process totally manageable, never overwhelming, and totally enjoyable. We highly recommend Katie. She is truly amazing!

Jack is our firstborn, and the moment we met Katie, we knew it was a perfect match. Jack was always happy and excited for his appointments. We never once had to remind him to complete his work. At the end, Jack got into the school of his choice….that is all we wanted. Money well spent.

I don’t think I could have survived the college application process without Katie! She kept me on track to finish my applications early, helped me write quality essays, managed the supplemental parts of my application, and kept my nerves in check throughout the whole process.

Katie’s help was invaluable. She kept Dexter on schedule for applications, so he experienced none of the “senior stress” during first semester–he completed the majority of the work during the summer. She really took the time to get to know Dexter, and then gave him tailored assistance in this process.

Katie turned the college application process into an overwhelmingly positive experience. She led gently, but supported fiercely, and I had the pleasure of watching my daughter forge a unique path to the South that feels just right for her. Katie gave the gift of pride and excitement to my daughter–and that’s priceless.

We LOVE Katie! It’s easy for parents and students to get caught up in all the drama of the college application process, but Katie demonstrated to us that it is a chance to show the world who you really are. We are deeply indebted to Katie for her sincerity and competence, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
