After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Liz worked in the UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor and fell in love with information sessions and providing advice about the college process. Looking for more experience in higher education, she traveled to UT Austin to complete her master’s degree in education and spent time as an admissions counselor in UT’s Office of Admissions. Fortunately, it was at UT that Liz and Collegewise counselor Rebecca made glorious acquaintance.
Although she loved her time in Austin and working with Rebecca, Liz traveled back to her hometown, Baltimore, Maryland, to work as an assistant director of residential life at Johns Hopkins University and be closer to her family. However, the lure of live music, excellent food, and helping families through the college process at Collegewise has led her back to Austin. When Liz is not researching the latest trends in college admissions, she is looking for the best queso and BBQ restaurants in Austin and sharpening her already formidable fluting skills.
Though she's located in Austin, Liz is not just a UT Austin expert. While Collegewise Austin students are accepted at UT at five times the national admit rate, they also receive acceptances from universities all over the country! Our students have recently been admitted to the University of Virginia, Barnard, NYU, Rice, and Texas A&M.

What are people saying about Collegewise?
I loved the support Collegewise gave me, specifically from Liz, who made the college transition a little easier than I had imagined. Being a first generation student, I had no idea about where to start when searching what college to go to. Liz provided me guidance, support and much patience.

It was so reassuring and comforting to have someone to talk to about everything from asking a teacher for rec letters, to the order of activities on my resume, to clicking send on my application. I don’t think I would have been able to narrow my college choices or write my essays without my counselor’s help.
I had a great experience with Liz! Even though I was a little late to decide I wanted to attend grad school, that did not discourage Liz at all. Even with (what some might say) an impossibly short deadline, Liz made it work. We got my essay turned around and up to submission standards in time for my deadline!
I loved working with Rebecca and Liz. Not only do both of them exude positive thoughts throughout the stressful process of applying to college, but they simplify it so much that it became efficient as well as easy.

Collegewise helped me stay on top of the college application process while still being able to keep a handle on my school work. I was accepted to almost every school I applied to and ultimately went to one of my top choice schools. Collegewise truly made the entire process a much less stressful experience.

Working with Collegewise allowed us to be cheerleaders for our son through this process and enjoy watching him take ownership over his college journey with our support. I credit Rebecca and Liz’s tenacity, high expectations for their students, and their expertise for the great essay and short answers that our son had.
